THE JOURNEY FROM SHY GIRL TO UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR: EXPERIENCE REPORTS
Abstract
This text presents an account of my experience from my origins in Sento-Sé, Bahia, to my rise to university professor. The narrative covers significant moments in the life of a woman who, since childhood, has had to learn to live with various deterritorialities but which, despite this, have not lost me as a subject and have served my learning. In revisiting my memories and recounting some of my experiences, I also touch on a bit of the history of education, the economy, politics and some of Brazil's cultural issues, because, although this is a personal story, it is intrinsically linked to the historical time that permeates it. This unique account not only illustrates the individual journey and the overcoming of gender-related challenges, but also highlights the construction of an alternative pedagogy, highlighting the crucial role of education in citizen formation and the search for a new social order.
