CASA MIGUEL VITA, RECIFE. 1958: RESCUE OF MODERN HERITAGE THROUGH DOCUMENTATION

Abstract

The article has as object of study, the documentary rescue through digital technologies, of a residence designed by the architect Delfim Amorim, with the collaboration of the architect Armindo Leal, for the family of the industrialist Miguel Vita, in 1958, in the neighborhood of Casa Forte, in Recife Pernambuco. The objective is to socialize the results of an investigation carried out on the work of the Portuguese architect and professor living in Recife, and which had a fundamental role in the consolidation of architectural modernity in northeastern Brazil. It is justified to bring up such a discussion, taking as a case study, this house that was considered one of the most significant examples of modern residential production in Pernambuco - but which was recently demolished, to make way for another skyscraper. The work will be analyzed architecturally, exposing the documentation process, becoming this, a fundamental piece in the preservation of the building's memory.
